Each Mayan Calendar COLUMN Explained

The Meanings for each calendar Column:

FIRST column, on the left, is the DATE BOX.

SECOND column, shaded in light grey, is for the MOON phases.

Abbreviations:

NM = New Moon

FQ = First Quarter Moon

FM = Full Moon

LQ = Last Quarter Moon

P = Perigee, Moon closest to Earth (active)

A = Apogee, Moon away from Earth (passive)

• When the Moon is close to Earth at (P) Perigee, plants expand, grow and bud out. (ACTIVE)

• When the Moon is farhtist away from Earth at (A) Apogee, plant energy withdraws into its root system. (PASSIVE)

P = Perigee = focus OUTSIDE peak, active

A = Apogee = focus INSIDE peak, passive

THIRD column, current COLOR of the 13-YEAR cycle.

Currently, we are in the 13-year yellow STAR lamat time cycle, 2026-2039.

Currently in Cycle 4, of the four 13-year cycles:

1987-2000 = red SKYWALKER (ben) years

2000-2013 = white MIRROR (etznab) years

2013-2026 = blue NIGHT (akbal) years

2026-2039 = yellow STAR (lamat) years

FOURTH column, to the right, is for the COLOR of the current 365-day solar YEAR, marked by Mayan "New Year’s Day," currently celebrated on January 11. (And NOT July 26, as many believe.)

The order of the current 4-year cycle:

• 2023 ~ red SKYWALKER ben - East

︎• 2024 ~ white MIRROR etznab - South

• 2025 ~ blue NIGHT akbal - West

• 2026 ~yellow STAR lamat - North

FIFTH column, shows the COLOR of the 65-DAY SEASON associated with each day.

The four (4) 65-day Season cycle BEGINS on red 3 SERPENT chikchan on day #185.

The Four Season cycles are another “inner” hidden 260-day cycle (65 days x 4 = 260) which weaves together consecutive regular 260-day cycles by overlapping them.

The order of the 65-day SEASON cycles, are:

• red SERPENT chikchan Season

Season of kundalini and sacred movement

• white DOG ok Season

Season of compassion, love, nourishment

• blue EAGLE men Season

Season of the group mind and projected prayers

• yellow SUN ajaw Season

Season of ascension and enlightenment

Each 65-day SEASON begins on a week-day 3:

3 SERPENT - day #185, NIGHT Week 15

3 DOG - day #250, STAR Week 20

3 EAGLE - day #55, SKYWALKER Week 5

3 SUN - day #120, MIRROR Week 10

The Season Days - Sd

During each 65-day Season, the day-sign associated with and named for that Season is called a Season Day, abbreviated in red as “Sd.”

During each Season, the four Season Days (Sd) within each Season appear on week-days: 3, 10, 4 and 11.

Market Days = m

Every FIVE day is a “Markey Day.”

On variou charts, Markey Days are identified by the small green letter “m.”

These Market Days are the four day-signs in every 65-day Season associated with the four Seasons. Goods & food items are brought into the town and village markets for sale and barter.

The order each Month of the Market Days are:

SERPENT > DOG >- EAGLE > SUN

SIXTH column, displays the COLCOLfor each of the 20 DAY-SIGNS, and its DAY #, from #1 to #260.

Reds = initiate

Whites = shape

Blues = multilpy

Yellows = ripen

SEVENTH column, displays the COLOR of each 13-day Mayan WEEK: red, white blue and yellow.

EIGHTH column, lists the WEEK-DAY DAY NUMBER, from 1 to 13, and the ENGLISH NAME for that particular day-sign.

NINTH column, lists the MAYA NAME for each of the 20 day-signs.

TENTH column, l8sts the musical TONE for each of the 13 days of each 13-day Week.

ELEVENTH column, listss the musical TONE for the particular 13 Mayan MONTHs of 20 days each.

The last column, on the right side, is for Notes, i.e. GAP.
